Your Job:
The Risk Investigator assists in the assessment, review, analysis, and support for the organization's risk management activities, which include coordinating activities of the program on a day-to-day basis, participating and conducting Root Cause Analysis, presenting risk management educational programs, and complying with the CMS Conditions of Participation (CoP's), The Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies risk management-related standards, with the objective of controlling and minimizing risk and loss to protect patients and the organization. As part of the risk management program assists and supports the system for tracking, categorizing, and responding to patient complaints as well as processing and follow up with the Occurrence Reporting Process.Your Job Requirements:
Minimum Bachelors Degree in Nursing, Healthcare or related field required. Demonstrated equivalent experience, knowledge and skills in hospital risk management may be considered with approval of the Director and Human Resources. 3-5 year's experience in Risk Management and/or Patient Safety desiredYour Job Responsibilities:
Coordinates review and refinement of the scope of the Patient Safety / Risk Management Program Manage and direct risk management / patient safety information into and out of the department in a confidential, timely and accurate manner to facilitate planning in processes and systems that reduce risk, harm and loss. Coordinates and/or assists with the implementation of programs to improve patient safety. Participates in program to track and respond to patient complaints. Serves as a resource with knowledge of state, federal and other regulatory or accreditation organizations regulations, guidelines and/or standards. Supports the organization and department through continuing education. Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling to meet hospital and department requirements for efficient and effective utilization of the department resources including staffing and material. Methodist Charlton Medical Center is a 314-bed, full-service, acute care teaching hospital that serves Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Duncanville, and Lancaster in southwestern Dallas County. In addition to the new 40,000-square-foot expansion of the emergency department, we offer a newly renovated intensive care unit, labor and delivery unit, and interventional radiology suite; a Level III Trauma Center, a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and the Dr. Stephen and Marilyn Mansfield Oncology Unit.
