Job Description

Under direct supervision, responsible for coordinating comprehensive program for Institutional compliance with occupational safety and health regulations. Ensures that the institution is in compliance with joint commission and other regulatory agencies. Knowledge in environmental health and safety or a related field. Ability to multitask, manage shifting priorities and follow through on projects. Ability to work in a construction/industrial environment. Strong organizational and communication skills. Proficiency with all Microsoft Office programs and familiarity with SharePoint.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree degree in Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Applied Science, Health or Environmental Science is required. Will accept equivalent experience (4 years) in lieu of education. Performs and assists with comprehensive laboratory and facilities safety evaluations and fire safety inspections. Monitors, packages, transports, separates and processes hazardous materials for appropriate disposal. Maintains program compliance reporting systems identifying and developing both corrective action and appropriate training for areas found to be deficient. Assists in the development of standard operating procedures and other written guidelines. Assists with data analysis to identify workplace health and safety risk trends, recommends and monitors actions to mitigate risk and develop prevention strategies/programs. Documents corrective actions. Performs all other duties as assigned.
