WHAT YOU'LL DO AS OUR JOB SITE SAFETY TECHNICIAN

You'll travel to job sites across East Texas, including the Dallas area and across to Tyler, Longview, and Marshall, to audit daily activities, track vehicle usage, and ensure compliance with all safety policies. This role requires a proactive mindset, observational skills, and the ability to clearly explain the best work practices. You'll educate field employees on identifying and avoiding hazards, using PPE and equipment, and properly documenting near-miss incidents. During your audits, you'll monitor employee activities/work zone setups and quickly intervene to address and prevent unsafe behavior. You'll submit detailed reports and escalate issues when appropriate. In addition to on-site activities, you'll monitor fleet vehicle usage using the Verizon Connect system. If you notice any violations (speeding, hard braking or accelerating, unauthorized use, etc.), you'll identify the driver and document the situation. In case of repeated violations, you'll escalate to leadership and recommend corrective actions. You'll strive to prevent incidents and reduce risks, and if an accident does happen, you'll investigate the situation and document your findings. You'll immediately respond to incidents, secure the scene, control all hazards, and ensure employees seek timely medical care. When the employee is stable, you'll coordinate post-accident testing, root-cause analyses, and formal investigation reports. You'll also support new hire onboarding and safety training, participate in meetings, and maintain a well-stocked equipment inventory.
