Duties Help You will investige workplaces, facilities, and operion mishaps by obtaining stements from witnesses or taking photographs of mishap scene. You will perform risk assessments of hazardous processes and working conditions to determine hazard control techniques th minimize or elimine unsafe and unhealthful operions. You will use Safety and Occupional Health principles, practice and procedures to develop and recommend the implemention and management of safety and health programs. You will coordine or perform safety and occupional health inspections, occupional health surveys, or field audits to gher informion on current safety practices. Specialized experience must demonstre the following: 1) Analyzing da on work operions, mishaps, and safety practices to prepare reports of findings th propose corrective measures for unsafe conditions and hazardous work practices; 2) Investiging mishaps, hazard reports, and unsafe or unhealthful working conditions to protect personnel and property; 3) Advising personnel of safety and occupional health measures to control or elimine hazardous opering processes; and 4) Conducting safety and occupional health inspections and surveys to evalue effectiveness of unit safety program. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Managing safety or occupional health program elements. Developing and recommending safety and occupional health policy to higher levels of management. Applying safety and occupional health laws, regulions, principles, theories, practices, and procedures to advise on or resolve technical mters dealing with occupional safety and health requirements. Developing safety and occupional health standards, regulions, practices, and procedures to elimine or control potential hazards. Developing or implementing programs to reduce the frequency, severity, and cost of accidents and occupional illnesses. Analyzing or evaluing new and existing jobs, processes, products, or other systems to determine the existence, severity, probability, and outcome of hazards. Designing or modifying workplaces, processes, products, or other systems to control or elimine hazards. Inspecting or surveying workplaces, processes, products, or other systems for compliance with established safety and occupional health policies or standards and to identify potential new hazards. Training of workers, supervisors, managers, or other safety and occupional health personnel in safety or occupional health subjects. Work in occupional fields such as industrial hygienist, safety engineer, fire prevention engineer, health physicist, and occupional health nurse.
