Safety Professional - Second Shift (2 Openings)

4:00 PM - 2:00 AM (Second Shift)

Industry:

General Industry (Fabrication / Manufacturing)

Position Summary:

We are seeking two motivated Safety Professionals to support health and safety operations at a fabrication facility in Ruther Glen, VA. These roles are responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA general industry standards, promoting a proactive safety culture, and supporting injury prevention initiatives during second shift operations. The ideal candidates will have a solid foundation in industrial safety and the ability to engage effectively with frontline employees and supervisors.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and enforce compliance with OSHA general industry regulations and company safety policies Conduct routine floor audits, inspections, and behavioral observations to identify hazards and ensure safe work practices Lead incident investigations, including root cause analysis, and recommend corrective/preventive actions Track and maintain OSHA recordkeeping (e.g., OSHA 300 logs, incident reports) Deliver safety training for employees, including new hire orientation and job-specific hazard awareness Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to implement hazard controls and continuous improvement initiatives Support Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and risk assessments for fabrication processes Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to safety procedures Assist with emergency preparedness and response planning Promote a strong safety culture through coaching, engagement, and communication

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field with 2+ years of relevant industrial safety experience OR High school diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant industrial safety experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment Working knowledge of OSHA general industry standards (29 CFR 1910) Experience conducting safety audits, incident investigations, and safety training Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work second shift (4 PM - 2 AM) consistently

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement principles Experience with behavior-based safety programs Proficiency in safety management systems and reporting tools Certifications (Preferred but not required): OSHA 30-Hour General Industry ASP (Associate Safety Professional) or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) First Aid/CPR/AED certification

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

Ability to work in an active industrial/fabrication environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures Ability to walk the production floor for extended periods, climb stairs, and wear required
