Safety Technician

Generac Power Systems is looking for a Safety Technician to join our Jefferson HUB team and help us maintain the highest standards of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) excellence. About the Role As a Safety Technician , you'll work closely with the EHS Site Leader, specialists, and cross-functional teams to ensure workplace safety and compliance. You'll be the go-to resource for shift-specific EHS functions, helping prevent accidents and promoting safety awareness across the facility.

What You'll Do Safety Technician I Responsibilities:

Respond to floor safety needs, including incident response and limited safety coaching. Distribute PPE and conduct ergonomic assessments. Perform safety audits and pre-production checks for new or altered products. Facilitate new hire safety orientation. Collect environmental compliance data (air monitoring, filter performance, hazardous waste inspections). Monitor and archive inspection supplies for powered industrial trucks (PITs). Serve as the primary contact for EHS concerns on the production floor. Maintain emergency procedures, SDS files, incident reports, and training documentation. Assist in emergency response and communication. Other duties as assigned. Safety Technician II Responsibilities (in addition to Tech I): Train new employees and those transitioning to new work areas. Contribute to process improvements and problem-solving initiatives. Actively participate in tiger team meetings. Support recordkeeping and form development for incidents, audits, and inspections. Collaborate with specialists to develop and update training materials. Engage in MDI processes to resolve safety challenges. Report and resolve safety issues with minimal supervision. What We're Looking For High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 1 year of experience implementing occupational safety and environmental programs. Strong understanding of corporate EHS policies and safety standards. Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, WDNR, DOT, and local regulations. Effective verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking. Ability to influence and lead teams across multiple functions.
