POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the Company's field safety program and helping to develop, implement, monitor and manage safety programs, policies and procedures for employees working at customer locations. Supervises, participates in and develops the training of employees on safety policies, procedures and regulations. Acts as or ensures the Company maintains responsible or competent persons as required under OSHA regulations and otherwise ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state health, safety and environmental regulations. Provides leadership in establishing a successful and sustainable workplace safety culture.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions of this position include the following: Develop, implement and manage all field safety programs, policies, rules and procedures. Be knowledgeable about and understand federal, state and local safety laws and regulations and ensure organizational compliance with all applicable federal, state and local policies, procedures and regulations. Complete and maintain ISNetworld and other online contractor qualification accounts, ensure data and documents are uploaded on a timely basis, and manage safety policies and procedures to ensure the highest score possible for contractor qualification purposes. Understand and implement all emergency response procedures for the company, its personnel and operations. Develop and provide training of employees who will work onsite at customer locations regarding health and safety policies, procedures and regulations and maintain accurate records of all training. Develop and provide training of new and existing employees regarding safe and proper use of primary motor equipment, including forklifts, hand and power tools, and appropriate PPE, including confined space, scaffolding and personal fall arrest systems. Assure compliance with all customer safety, health and environmental policies for per-qualification and field service work and obtain and maintain safety and environmental trainer certifications from customers where necessary or appropriate. Conduct safety inspections and accident and near miss investigations, identify hazardous workplace conditions, oversee the collection of samples and measurements of hazardous material and coordinate and assist in the removal physical, biological and chemical hazards. Organize and lead the Management/Employee Safety Committee and prepare/provide safety tool box talks/meetings. Maintain and administer OSHA 1910 and 1926 procedures, including confined space entry, hazard communication, hazardous materials management, personal protective equipment, restraint/fall arrest, fire protection, lockout/tag out, and other safety programs. Maintain and distribute safety equipment, including confined space monitoring, respirator, fall arrest and LOTO equipment. Serve as the Company's liaison with its workers compensation carrier to manage matters involving injuries in the workplace and to implement the Company's return to work policies and procedures. Represent the Company in the most positive manner with prospective, former and current customers and vendors and serve as the Company's onsite safety liaison and specialist during field jobs and outages. Requires an associate's degree and/or a minimum of two (2) years experience in the field of safety management and training.Skills and Abilities:
Familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the field of safety management; able to rely on experience and good judgment to plan and accomplish duties and goals; able to perform a variety of complex tasks; able to lead and direct the work of others; able to create, manipulate and utilize spreadsheets and word processing programs; competency in reading and comprehending policies, procedures, regulations, tables, blueprints and specifications; must be detail oriented and have excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills.Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, climb ladders and work at elevated heights and crawl through small openings (i.e., 24" manway). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Position requires travel up to 75% related to on-site field training, supervision, inspection and investigation. The performance of this position requires the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, mandatory hearing protection, respiratory protection, work boots and hard hats.Job Type:
