Job Description

About the Position Nitro Construction Services (NCS) is seeking an experienced and motivated Fire Alarm Service & Inspection Manager to join our Fire Protection Division. This leadership role is ideal for a highly organized professional who thrives in a collaborative environment while taking ownership of project execution, team development, customer relationships, and code-compliant fire alarm system design and maintenance. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience with fire alarm testing, inspections, repairs, installations, and special hazards systems. This position combines technical expertise, project management, staff supervision, and customer engagement to ensure the successful delivery of fire protection projects across a variety of commercial and government facilities. Key Responsibilities Project Management & Design Provide overall design direction, code compliance oversight, and technical support for assigned projects. Develop project scopes, specifications, and fire alarm system documentation.
Prepare:
Logic diagrams Loop diagrams Device layout plans Panel layout details Battery load calculations Panel and circuit calculations Create engineering deliverables including distribution plans, riser diagrams, detail drawings, schedules, specifications, design analyses, and engineering reports. Produce and maintain 2D CAD drawings for permit submittals, installation packages, and as-built documentation. Service Operations & Leadership Manage fire alarm service, inspection, maintenance, and installation operations. Mentor, supervise, and support field technicians and project personnel. Coordinate with customers, suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders. Lead technical meetings and project discussions. Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards. Business Development & Estimating Develop project proposals, cost estimates, and pricing. Review and approve quotations and project documentation. Support customer relationship management and project planning efforts. Field Support Conduct occasional site visits, project observations, inspections, and construction-phase reviews. Oversee personnel assigned to field responsibilities. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project requirements. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years of fire alarm industry experience , including extensive experience performing complete installations on large and complex projects. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to pass a drug screening and background check. Willingness to travel as required and participate in on-call rotations. Ability to lift 40 pounds or more and work safely on ladders and lifts. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned projects.
Technical Requirements Comprehensive knowledge of:
NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) NFPA 72 (National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code)
NFPA 90A NFPA 101
(Life Safety Code) International Building Code (IBC) Applicable ISA and IEEE standards Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents. NICET Level III Certification preferred, or the ability to obtain certification within 18 months of hire. Experience with manufacturer-specific fire alarm system training and certifications is a plus. Experience with low-voltage security systems, access control, CCTV, and related technologies is highly desirable. Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and other applicable safety and regulatory requirements. Additional Requirements Must be self-sufficient and proactive in identifying training and professional development needs. Ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance. Position may require joining the local IBEW Union to work on jobsites, candidate must be willing and able to do so.
Pay:
$30.00 - $40.00 per hour
