Job Description

We are looking for a reliable ES&H Specialist to ensure everyone in the company complies with health, safety and environmental policies for our company and our customer. You will be responsible for establishing and upholding policies and procedures that are currently in place. As an ES&H Specialist you must have excellent attention to detail to identify hazards. You will be able to discover opportunities for improving conditions and execute various safety programs. The ability to communicate guidelines to a multidisciplinary workforce is essential. Work will take place on an active construction site so individual should anticipate long hours with varying schedules to include day shift and night shift work. The goal is to ensure the workplace meets all legal expectations and actively supports occupational health and safety. Responsibilities Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal & company guidelines Enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety Motive and be passionate about safety when discussing with fellow employees Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law and site requirements Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention, this includes on boarding new employees Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations Inspect equipment, machinery and work locations and to observe possible unsafe conditions and assist in making corrections Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker's compensation claims Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics Report Environmental conditions Complete weekly reports and submit as needed Keep records to assure compliance with state and federal guidelines Skills Proven experience as safety manager with 5 years of experience in construction safety Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment Excellent organizational and motivational skills Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities Valid qualification in occupational health and safety Ability to pass background check for government site access Ability to multitask and work professionally and proficiently in a group.
