Personnel Security Specialist I Req #7982 San Antonio, TX, USA Apply Share Job Description Posted Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at 1:00 AM SpecPro, Inc . is currently seeking a Personnel Security Specialist I in the San Antonio, TX area to support the corporate office with contracts across multiple government agencies. Receive, review and analyze all personnel security related correspondence required to assist candidates, new hires, and current employees with completing necessary forms in support of obtaining and maintaining personnel security clearance suitability and adjudicative requirements. These documents include but are not limited to eQip forms, fingerprint results, Declaration of Federal Employment, credit reports and other supporting documents. Create electronic cases and upload all appropriate documents relating to specific cases into the system of record and other necessary government and third-party systems such as SWFT, FieldPrint, Inquiries Screenings, NP2 Portal, DISS/NBIS, DataFacts, etc. Process requests for additional information on security packages and follow up on correspondence received to make a comprehensive personnel security recommendation. Generate credit/background reports on subjects and effectively communicate results. Prepare memoranda, reports and other personnel security documents, reports, and review all reports on recurring frequency for system integrity and accuracy. Properly safeguard Privacy Act Protected Information, Personal Identifiable Information (PII) and Unclassified/Classified National Security Information. Administer and assist the Security Department with accurately tracking all training and briefing requirements for employees. Effectively communicate with employees, hiring managers, and other internal supporting departments, as well as external government agency personnel in support of background checks, inquiries, report generation, and maintenance of training and briefing records. Assists with Internal Security Controls through performance of compliance assessment reviews and self-inspections to ensure compliance with government and company regulations/requirements. Report all security violations and discrepancies to the Security Department Manager for further action and determinations. Completes other duties as assigned in support of the Security Department.
Requirements:
The Personnel Security Specialist I must meet the minimum qualifications. High School diploma Minimum of 1 year of experience in Industry personnel security. Demonstrate working-level experience in conducting security related background checks, managing personnel security IT systems and/or interpreting local personnel security agency checks and credit reports, investigation status, and adjudications. Complete all necessary training in a timely fashion on recurring basis to maintain eligibility for access to necessary government and organic systems. This position requires the ability to maintain a U.S Top Secret Security Clearance; must be US citizen. An interim TS is acceptable for hire. Basic understanding of DoD Contract Security Classification Specification (DD-254) Must have the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and effectively interact with numerous DOD, military/civilian personnel and industry partners via telecommunication and written correspondence. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) Detail-oriented with a high degree of originality, creativity, initiative requiring minimal supervision, and eagerness to learn and develop.
