  • POSITION SUMMARY
  • Under general supervision, provides safety and protection for physical property and life at a designated facility. Tours the facilities and grounds and assists with the welfare and safety of employees, visitors and patients. _Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards._
  • CORE FUNCTIONS
  • 1.
Tours and inspects facility frequently to assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment. Assists employees with security related matters and enforces parking regulations. Responds to all emergency codes for assistance and control. Monitors traffic control. 2. Locks and unlocks facility doors at prescribed times. Checks unoccupied areas and sets the alarms when appropriate. Escorts patients, visitors and employees. 3. Prints employee badges. Issues and tracks the issuance of vendor, temp employee and student badges in accordance with Security policies. Ensures that no unauthorized visitors gain entry into the facility. 4. Investigates and completes written reports of complaints, critical security incidents and unusual activities involving patients, employees and visitors; submits all reports to security leadership at the end of shift in which the incident occurs. Maintains an accurate log of all relevant security activities during each shift. 5. Creates badge profiles and assists with NEO process by printing new employee badges and granting appropriate access levels to all new hires. De-activates badges as required. Issues and tracks the issuance of vendor, temp employee and student badges in accordance with Security policies. Ensures that no unauthorized visitors gain entry into the facility.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENT FACTORS
  • This position requires considerable physical activity which includes the ability to walk, stand, climb, stoop, and bend frequently.
May be required to lift up to 75 pounds. Requires ability to tolerate exposure to conditions which may include toxic chemicals, bio-hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, heights, high temperatures or confined spaces. Able to use proper body mechanics to lift supplies and equipment and push carts and dollies weighing up to 500 lbs. Needs adequate visual acuity, color vision and ability to grasp and handle objects. Must wear protective clothing as required. Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • + High School Diploma or equivalent.
+ One (1) year of security related experience. + Ability to make accurate observations and exercise good independent judgment in a variety of situations (including emergencies). Basic MS Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite knowledge. + Customer service orientation. + Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • + Knowledge of CAP (College of American Pathologists) and Joint Commission requirements. + Current IAHSS (International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety)-Basic Certification. + Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
