Job Description :

• Expected Responsibilities are but not limited to:
• Must be sensitive to client's culture and strive to maintain a positive client brand image.
• Treat Client's employees, invitees, and guest with the utmost courtesy and respect.
• Monitor the outside and inside of the facility.
• Scan tags hourly
• Patrol on foot or vehicle observing and maintaining the security protection including at client facilities, watchful and aware to detect evidence of damage, misuse or theft, issue written warnings, and fire watch.
• Prevent the public and unauthorized individuals from entering all restricted areas of Client facilities and rights-of-way.
• Routinely interface with the riding public, providing general information relative to use of the system and other necessary information.
• Prepare and submit security reports and provide assistance to investigators as required
• Participate in Special Enforcement Unit activities to include routine fare inspection sweeps (Compass Cards and paper passes), passenger counts, onboard and in fare paid zones and report accordingly.
• Respond effectively to all calls for assistance.

Qualifications:

• Must have an Exposed Firearms Permit (for Armed Positions)
• Must have current Guard Card
• Must have a valid California Driver's License or State ID
• May be required to perform emergency duties which require physical exertion such as: standing or walking for an entire shift, climbing stairs, lifting, carrying up to 50lbs.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent Speak, read, and write English. 1 yr or more security experience

Physical & Mental Requirements :

Well-proportioned as to height and weight and be in good general health without physical defects which would interfere with the performance of duties. In possession of binocular vision, correctable to 20/30 (Snellen). Able to distinguish between standard colors. Capable of hearing ordinary conversation at 20 feet. The use of hearing aids is permissible. Able to perform normal or emergency duties requiring moderate to arduous exertion such as climbing stairs or ladders, lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds, running short distances and self-defense Veterans Inter-Con is passionate about hiring veterans.
