Under the direction of the Security/Safety Manager, Security Officers patrol all areas open to the public and other secured areas to maintain security and handle any incidents that may arise.

Specific duties include:

• Assist in implementing Artichoke Joe's Casino rules regarding minimum age and customer conduct and assist other Artichoke Joe's Casino managers/employees with customer problems and incidents. Report all issues of individuals appearing to be under 21 years of age, appearing intoxicated or otherwise appearing to jeopardize Artichoke Joe's licensing to supervisor and the Shift Coordinator.
• Implement fire prevention, emergency evacuation, and other safety measures.
• Patrol assigned area, checking locks and other secured areas, and watch for potential problems. Assist Police and other law enforcement agencies.
• Handle chip "suitcases" and containers in the gaming area as requested.
• Pursue, restrain, and physically control individuals involved in incidents.
• Handle customers courteously and anticipate/avoid conflict.
• Use fire extinguishers, and other security systems, telephone equipment, vans, etc.
• Prepare incident reports and assist supervisors and law enforcement personnel with investigations.
• Report to appropriate personnel any hazardous condition.

No weapons may be carried while on duty. Maintain professional appearance and adhere to uniform requirements. Maintain reliable, consistent and punctual attendance and be flexible to work overtime when necessary. Maintain guard certification. The ability to walk and stand for an entire shift, along with the strength and ability to bend, lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 1000 pounds.
