POSITON SUMMARY
Team San Jose is seeking a Security Supervisor to protect company assets and provide a safe environment for employee and guests. The supervisor assumes the primary security responsibility for the daily activities of his/her specific shifts which includes assisting with the effective and efficient operations of the Safety and Security Department and performs the function of a Security Officer as needed. The Supervisor will report to the Assistant Director of Safety and Security and Director of Safety, Security and Parking.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
During the assigned shift: oversee the activities of the department to ensure efficient and effective operation, assist in the supervision of Security Officers, assigned Security Officers to work areas, and ensure tasks are being performed as required. Disseminate pertinent information during the shift to the current and next shift. Reviews reports from Security Officers for completeness and provide written and oral reports to Director of Safety, Security and Parking and/or Assistant Director of Safety and Security. Patrols properties/grounds/garage checking for illegal and suspicious activities, vandalism, safety hazards, and ensure facilities properly secured. Urge transients and people loitering in unauthorized areas to leave. Investigates and reports hazards, unusual, or suspicious circumstances to security dispatch for correction or follow-up actions; maintains contact with dispatch. Prepare incidents reports such as employee accident injury, vandalism, damage, and hazards, and patron accidents. Monitors radio traffic and CCTV cameras and assists in dispatching proper Security Officer Communicate essential information to facilitate First Emergency Responders-fire, police, ambulance, etc. to specific location while maintaining professional composure and using proper terminology and etiquette Responds to alarms and dispatched calls; identify what actions to take based on situation. Issue/collect company properties such as radios, key control system, and I.D. badges. Conduct random bag check inspection and locker inspections. Escort employees as requested if reasonably necessary. Conduct suspicious behavior observation with employees if necessary. Turn off escalators/elevators, unlock and lock doors, turn on and off lights. Monitor loading dock use, issue temporary parking passes and enforce illegal parking. Complete additional tasks or projects as requested by Director of Safety, Security and Parking.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Possess valid Security Guard Card License 2-3 years of security lead or supervisor experience. Must be able to identify and quickly respond to potential problems, altercations and conflicts and follow reporting procedures. Must have conflict resolution skills. Provide excellent customer service and have good people skills Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and basic reporting skills. Officers must have a good working knowledge of management practices and principles Must be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed Walk and stand throughout the shift Team San Jose is an equal opportunity employer.
