Part-time; non-exempt; 10 monthsDEFINITIONServing as a vital member of the safety and security team, the Campus Security Officer helps maintain a secure, Christ-centered environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role is responsible for the protection of life and property on the Linfield Christian School campus through proactive patrolling, vigilant monitoring, and professional emergency response. The Campus Security Officer serves as a collaborative team member who balances high-level safety protocols with a relational, approachable presence, ensuring that the campus remains a safe place for the broader Linfield community to thrive.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Campus Patrol & SurveillanceFoot & Vehicle Patrol:
Conduct regular, thorough patrols of all campus buildings, parking lots, and perimeter fencing to deter unauthorized access and identify safety hazards.
Proactive Monitoring:
Maintain high visibility during school hours to ensure a safe environment and discourage potential security threats.
Facility Security:
Ensure all gates, doors, and sensitive areas are properly secured according to the daily campus schedule.
Student Supervision:
Ensure students conduct themselves with proper behavior and adhere to school policies.
Access Control & Traffic ManagementVisitor Verification:
Monitor campus entry points, ensuring all visitors are properly vetted, signed in, and directed to the appropriate locations.
Arrival & Dismissal Support:
Manage traffic flow and pedestrian safety during peak morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up times.
Special Event Security:
Support security logistics for after-school activities, athletic events, and community gatherings as needed.
Emergency Response & Incident ManagementCrisis Intervention:
Serve as a first responder to any security threats, medical emergencies, or fire alarms, taking immediate and appropriate action per school protocol.
Reporting:
Document all incidents, suspicious activities, and safety violations through detailed and accurate written reports.
Law Enforcement Liaison:
Assist local law enforcement and emergency services as a primary campus contact during active incidents or investigations.
Relational Support & Professional ConductCommunity Engagement:
Build positive, professional relationships with students, parents, and staff, serving as a helpful and protective presence.
Mission Alignment:
Conduct all duties in a manner that reflects the Christian values and mission of Linfield Christian School.
De-escalation:
Use professional communication and de-escalation techniques to manage conflicts or sensitive situations with discretion.
QUALIFICATIONS & QUALITIES
Education & LicensureHigh School Diploma or equivalent required.

Valid California Drivers License required.

Valid California BSIS Guard Card required.

Valid California Exposed Firearm Permit required.

Valid California Concealed Weapons Permit required.

Valid CPR/AED/First Aid Certification requiredEXPERIENCEExperience in law enforcement, related military service, or specialized armed security highly preferred. Skills & CompetenciesExpertise in firearm safety and proficiency.

Strong situational awareness and observation skills.

Ability to remain calm and decisive under high-stress conditions.

Clear and professional verbal and written communication.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with students, families, visitors, and staff.

Basic technology skills for incident reporting and surveillance monitoring.
