Reporting directly to a dedicated Team Lead or the Director of Operations, you will operate as part of a highly trained two-person team , executing both interstate and intrastate transports with precision and discipline. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following: Agent will conduct themselves in a professional manner when interacting with offenders or law enforcement agencies. Agents will always follow company Standard Operating Procedures. Agents will transport 1-6 offenders at any given time with a minimum of 2 agents and are responsible for the welfare of each offender. Check ins will be conducted hourly at a minimum while transporting inmates. Follow various communication procedures and reporting processes. Conducts proper searching and cuffing procedures when exchanging custody of offenders. Follows proper procedures when transporting offenders for long distances. Will follow the Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2004 when interacting with offenders, co-workers, and bystanders. Properly maintains all equipment and company issued items while in possession (included, but not limited to, vehicles, weapons, electronic devices, etc.) Follows DOT guidelines while driving and ensures to be in compliance with all reporting methods and procedures. Skills & Abilities Ability to work in a team situation and take orders when necessary. Critical thinking in a multitude of situations. Proficiency in firearms and use. Communication skills are required. General hand-to-hand combat experience. Other Abilities and Skills The above list is not exhaustive of duties required from employees. Education/Certifications Required High School diploma or (GED) equivalence required. 21 years or older. Valid Driver's License. Must complete the company training course's minimum standard Minimum Experience Required Three (3) years of experience in military, law enforcement, security, prisoner transportation or similar field. Preferred Experience Four (4) or more years of experience in military or law enforcement positions. Any combat related experience or special operations is highly preferred. Associate or bachelor's Degree in any related field is recommended. Any medical training or CPR certifications preferred. Any proficiency in a martial arts or self-defense course. Must have basic firearm training and provide proof prior to hire (DD214, NRA Certification, Conceal Carry Permit, or similar training/experience). Fit For Duty Requirements E-Verify process completed. Drug and alcohol testing is required prior to hire, annual testing conducted, and random testing is at the discretion of the company. A fingerprint criminal background check is required prior to hire and a general background check is pulled at the discretion of the company. Ability to pass a NCIC and CJIS fingerprint background check. Motor Vehicle Record is required prior to hire and pulled annually. Physical fitness test must be passed within a probationary period of 90 days and annually. Marine Corps Maneuver Under Fire test must be completed within 3 minutes and 45 Seconds Pistol qualification must be passed within a probationary period of 90 days and annually. Must pass the company's training course's minimum standards. Prolonged periods sitting in a vehicle or at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift to 100 pounds. DOT Medical Certificate must be maintained throughout employment. Work Conditions Long periods of time are spent driving and supervising offenders in vehicles ranging from small sedans to passenger vans. Unusual Conditions This job has a higher exposure to danger than the typical job. It requires a lot of exposure to inmates of all types and levels of security.
