Job Description

Job Description ​​Safeguard the campus through regular patrols and extensive interaction and partnerships with students, faculty, staff, visitors, and the broader Hartford community. Support a positive student experience by creating a safe and inclusive campus environment and enforcing college policies and community standards. Help perform incident investigations and respond to emergencies and crises on campus.​ Responsibilities Conduct active and random patrols of the campus to provide a safe and secure environment for individuals and property, and to enforce college policies and community standards​ ​​Perform initial investigations of incidents, conduct follow-up investigations, and make accurate and timely written reports​ Respond to emergencies, problems and complaints, and provide care and resources to those who are sick, injured, or in crisis​ ​​Perform duties in uniform and may travel by foot, bicycle, or marked Campus Safety Vehicle​ Perform other related duties as assigned and based on departmental needs Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Associates, preferred 1-3 years of work experience ​​Driver's License and excellent driving record ​Able to pass a background investigation ​​Experience/commitment to working with and supporting diverse communities ​Possess strong critical thinking skills ​Ability to handle sensitive and challenging situations with professionalism and compassion ​Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as a member of a diverse team ​Display sensitivity to the unique role that security plays in a college setting ​Effective oral and written communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills ​Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, collaboration, and facilitation skills and experience ​Computer and written skills consistent with the completion of detailed and comprehensive reports on computer-based reporting systems ​Meticulous attention to detail ​Reliable and able to work independently under established guidelines ​Able to perform duties at night and during inclement weather ​Previous campus safety experience is a plus ​Ability to speak a second language is a plus​ About Us Trinity is a highly selective, independent, nonsectarian liberal arts institution located in the capital city of Hartford, Connecticut.
