Job Description
American Eagle Protective Services (AEPS) provides facilities support and security services for government and commercial customers. Our team includes armed and unarmed security personnel, as well as professionals providing investigative services. The company is a woman-owned business that is dedicated to the highest professional standards with the passion to raise those standards through attention to detail, experience, knowledge, proper training, and education. The Protective (PSO) is responsible for ensuring the safety of DOJ facilities and on-site personnel against unauthorized, illegal and potentially life-threatening activities. At a minimum PSOs are required to perform the following functions:
- Entrance Control
- The PSO must enforce the district's entry and identification system. This includes operating security screening equipment to detect weapons, contraband and prohibited items, checking hand-carried items.
- Roving Patrol
- The PSO must patrol court facilities and grounds of the facility in accordance with applicable post orders.
- Stationary Patrol Assignments
- The CSO must stand guard at stationary posts. This effort includes monitoring closed circuit television, duress alarm systems and other security equipment, courtrooms, judge chambers and jury rooms..
- Garage Parking and Pedestrian Control
- Where applicable, the PSO directs traffic and control lights on court facility properties according to post orders.
- Law and Order
- The PSO is responsible for enforcing federal law while in the performance of assigned duties.
- Reports and Records
- The PSO prepares daily reports regarding unusual incidents or unlawful acts that occurred within the court facility area.
