JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for protecting employees, visitors, premises, and assets in the case of an incident. Work involves regular patrolling and monitoring activities on the company's premises to discourage suspects and ensure the environment is safe and secure. Work is performed under close supervision with minimal latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Patrols and monitors activities on the company's premises regularly to discourage criminals and ensure the environment is safe and secure; reports suspicious activities to local authorities Escorts discharged employees, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties off the premises Controls the gated entrances according to protocols Operates and monitors communication and surveillance systems (CCTV, alarms, radios, etc.) Provides detailed reports to management as needed for any incidents that may occur Contacts law enforcement or fire department in case of an emergency May make physical checks after business hours and weekends to ensure doors, windows, and gates are secure

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED; OR a combination of experience, certification, education and training that demonstrates expertise in the related areas.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES OR SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess and maintain a regular Class "E" Driver's license Must possess and maintain Florida Security Class "D" license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience in security or a related field Bilingual - English and Spanish
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of security procedures and patrol techniques Knowledge of emergency response procedures, including fire, medical, and evacuation protocols Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and policies related to safety and security Knowledge of incident reporting and basic investigative procedures Knowledge of, or ability to learn proper use of security equipment such as radios, alarms, CCTV systems, and access control systems Ability to learn to use Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook and Excel) and applicable department and organization specific software Skill in using mathematics required for the work Ability to follow oral and written instructions Ability to write clear, accurate, and timely incident reports Ability to learn how to operate security systems and emergency equipment Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under stressful or emergency situations Ability to observe, assess, and accurately report suspicious activity Ability to clearly communicate and understand information in English, orally and in writing Ability to follow public safety guidelines and protocols and perform job functions in a safe manner Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those interacted with during work regardless of race, color, religious creed, national origin, ancestry, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, genetic information, disability, political affiliation, military service, or diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds Ability to maintain regular attendance to ensure efficient and effective performance of job duties

REQUIREMENTS
Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks involve the periodic performance of moderately physically demanding work, usually involving lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 50 pounds). Tasks that require moving objects of significant weight require the assistance of another person and/or use of proper techniques and moving equipment. Tasks may involve some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Tasks are regularly performed inside and/or outside with exposure to adverse environmental conditions (e.g., dirt, cold, rain, fumes). Some tasks require manual dexterity, in addition to visual and hearing acuity. Some tasks may involve identifying and distinguishing colors. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate visual cues or signals.
