Security Guard (Overnights)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Security Guard position provides overnight security services at BayCare Ballpark with year-round coverage. They will also monitor security at Carpenter Complex. Candidates must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays as the ballpark's schedule requires. Incumbent must be trustworthy and dependable to handle sensitive situations with care and diligence. This position will be located on-site in Clearwater, FL.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform scheduled and random checks of designated areas throughout the facility to check for any security breaches. Assist the maintenance staff in securing an area during a maintenance emergency. Collaborate with other members of the corporate security team to ensure that the facility is always secure. Able to communicate via two-way radio. Ability to liaise with the local police and fire departments, and read fire alarm panels to direct police and fire in the event of an alarm. Patrol premises to ensure they are secure; will need to navigate stairs, as well as operate a golf cart. Keep mental alertness and attention to detail high, no matter the circumstances. Follow established security protocols while using initiative and good judgment. Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Physically able to navigate a large facility, prolonged standing, walking & stairs. Ability to work in the elements (sun, rain, wind, hot/cold temperature). Police, military, or security experience is preferred, but not required. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate a motor vehicle. Individuals must be dependable, trustworthy, possess strong oral and written communication and have excellent interpersonal skills.
