Unarmed Security Guard

Security Guard Job Description Commercial Gatehouse Security Officer acting as the primary access control point for facilities, responsible for verifying credentials of personnel, visitors, and vendors while maintaining a visible security presence. Key duties include monitoring CCTV, managing vehicle entry, issuing badges and passes and producing daily activity reports. Communication with front office is critical and must be clear and concise.

Key Responsibilities Access Control:

Strict screening of all incoming/outgoing vehicles and pedestrians, verifying identification, and maintaining authorized visitor/vendor logs.

Surveillance and Monitoring:

Monitoring CCTV cameras, alarms, and electronic security systems for suspicious activity.

Reporting and Documentation:

Writing detailed, accurate daily activity reports (DARs) and incident reports.

Customer Service:

Serving as the first point of contact, providing directions, and assisting employees and visitors.

Emergency Response:

Responding to, documenting, and reporting safety hazards, fire hazards, or security breaches.

Site Patrols:

Conducting, at times, vehicle, golf cart, or foot patrols around the perimeter.

Qualifications Licensing:

Valid Florida State Security D License Experience:

Prior security, military, or customer service experience preferred.

Skills:

Strong communication, attentiveness to detail, and proficiency with technology (tablets, computers, security software).

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; clean background check and drug screening.
