All certifications must be transferred to the Coach Aaron Feis Guardian Program and be valid/current with a Sheriff's Office. In this role, you will be a uniformed school safety resource officer under the Proteus School Safety Unit. Responsibilities Maintain a vigilant presence throughout the school campus, monitoring for safety concerns and suspicious activity using surveillance tools such as CCTV systems and regular foot patrols of the campus. Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents or emergencies, including medical emergencies requiring CPR or first aid. Enforce school policies and security protocols by managing access points and conducting regular patrols to deter theft, vandalism, or unauthorized entry. Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and emergency responders during incidents or drills to ensure coordinated safety efforts. Manage conflict situations with professionalism and tact, de-escalating disputes and ensuring a safe environment for all students and staff. Conduct security checks of facilities, including surveillance system audits and loss prevention measures to safeguard school property. Document incidents accurately through detailed reports and logs to maintain clear records of safety activities. These are a general overview and not all inclusive. The SSRO position is fluid and you must be able to act and respond as needed. You must be a people and children person and able to interact in a pastoral manner showing respect for all. Experience Active experience in law enforcement, or the Guardian program Certification in CPR and first aid is preferred; candidates without these skills will be trained further if needed. Demonstrated ability to operate surveillance equipment such as CCTV systems effectively. Strong conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure. Knowledge of security procedures, loss prevention strategies, and emergency response protocols. Experience working in educational settings. Field Supervisor and above assigned a take home vehicle. Requirements Coach Aaron Feis Guardian program training certification - current / valid. FDACS, SLED or PPSB unarmed and armed licenses - current/valid. Qualification score of 220 or better (Florida); 90% or better (NC/SC). Physically Fit and able to pass endurance and fitness testing. Neat and clean appearance. Clear background and annual checks. Clear drug and alcohol screen and random screening. Clear 3-year driving record with annual check. Concealed carry license is helpful but not mandatory. Excellent customer service skills. Excellent with children. Willing to be certified (5-years) in "Protecting God's Children" program provided before school assignment. AHCA certification Must have a duty belt, firearm, OC Spray and related belt attachments. All must be approved by leadership prior to assignment. Protective tactical vest will be provided (black dress shirt style with molly) Black police style shoes (polishable). No tattoos or have the ability to cover with self provided sleeve or turtleneck/dickie. Nothing offensive. Ability to shoot and demonstrate proficiency through our training institute. Proactive patrols with significant standing and walking. This isn't a desk job. Ready to act during emergency. Training for active events will be provided through Proteus Training Institute. Comfortable with "hands-on" as needed. Proficient in de escalation techniques. This will also be a subject during training. Ability to detain / handcuff without challenge. Current or ability to qualify for your supplemental AR-15 rifle qualifications. You will receive training through Proteus Training Institute. Proficiency with taser use. You will be able to certify through Proteus Training Institute. Grooming Standards You will be working in a variety of school environments including Christian, Public and Charter schools. A neat and clean, freshly pressed appearance is a non-negotiable.

Beards are acceptable but must be no longer than 1 inch in length. Must be properly groomed and neat in appearance. No 5 o'clock shadow look. Hair must be business style. No long hair or ponytail. No excessive jewelry on fingers and no visible neck jewelry. No heavy colognes. This is not an all inclusive list - just a starting parameter.

Proteus Training Institute is an approved member of the National School Resource Officers Association and certified to instruct the Guardian 144 hour program. We work with the local Sheriff's offices to receive appropriate certifications. All firearms training; active incident training and emergency first aid, stop the bleed, AED will be provided through PTI instruction as needed. Closing Instructions We are currently ONLY hiring certified SRO/Guardian candidates with valid certificates as this time. We will accept applications for those who desire to get certified and will train as needed to fill vacancies. Training begins in July. Assignment begins in August. You are paid weekly on Monday's. All positions are non-exempt (Salaried). During school breaks and summer, you will be assigned to support the security side, patrol or will be in training. Orientation is July 27 at 9am and will be detailed in your offer letter. Due to ordering uniforms and other sizable items, this posting will close on June 15th. Please note, if you do NOT have the required items (gun belt, fire arm, holster) you will not be considered. Active / current LEO's, you can use your training credentials to obtain your unarmed and armed licenses in most cases. You must have your security licenses and your Sheriff's conversion of your credentials into the Guardian certificate. You should not need to take the 144 hour class.
