Full-Time / Part-Time / As Needed Position Summary The Unarmed Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and professional environment for clients, visitors, employees, and property under the protection of The Apex Security Group LLC . Officers serve as a visible deterrent against unauthorized activity, criminal behavior, safety hazards, and policy violations while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, vigilance, and integrity. The Unarmed Security Officer reports directly to the Command Staff and is expected to uphold the mission, standards, and operational procedures of the agency at all times. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesSecurity Operations Protect life, property, and assets assigned to the post. Maintain a highly visible presence to deter theft, vandalism, trespassing, and unauthorized activity. Conduct routine patrols of assigned premises by foot and/or vehicle. Monitor entrances, exits, gates, parking lots, and designated security checkpoints. Perform property inspections to identify safety hazards, maintenance concerns, suspicious activity, or security breaches. Inspect doors, windows, gates, locks, and restricted areas to ensure proper security. Respond promptly and professionally to alarms, incidents, disturbances, emergencies, and requests for assistance. Observe and report all unusual activities, incidents, or suspicious behavior. Incident Response & Documentation Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity reports, and shift logs accurately and in a timely manner. Document accidents, injuries, property damage, suspicious activities, and policy violations. Notify Command Staff immediately of emergencies, critical incidents, or operational concerns. Assist law enforcement, fire personnel, EMS, and emergency responders when required. Access Control & Site Protection Verify identification, credentials, visitor access, and authorized personnel entry. Enforce access control procedures according to client and company protocols. Prevent unauthorized entry and enforce trespass procedures when necessary. Monitor deliveries, vendors, contractors, and guest access. Customer Service & Professional Conduct Provide exceptional customer service to clients, staff, residents, guests, and visitors. Maintain professional communication and de-escalate tense situations when appropriate. Represent The Apex Security Group LLC in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner. Maintain composure and sound judgment in stressful situations. Policy Compliance Adhere to all company policies, operational procedures, post orders, and client instructions. Maintain confidentiality regarding client operations, incidents, and proprietary information. Report policy violations, misconduct, or safety concerns through the chain of command. Attend mandatory meetings, briefings, and required training sessions. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Valid state-issued Security Officer License (where applicable). Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record (if vehicle patrol is required). Ability to pass background screening and employment verification. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Strong observation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods. Professional appearance and demeanor required. Preferred Qualifications Prior security, military, law enforcement, customer service, or related experience preferred. CPR / First Aid certification preferred. Experience with access control, patrol reporting systems, and incident documentation. Conflict resolution and de-escalation training preferred. Physical Requirements The Unarmed Security Officer must be able to: Stand and walk for extended periods. Patrol interior and exterior environments in varying weather conditions. Climb stairs, bend, kneel, crouch, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Maintain visual and auditory awareness of surroundings. Operate communication devices, smartphones, radios, and reporting systems. $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
