Dayshift Security Officer (Ocala, FL)

Position Overview ​We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and vigilant Part-Time Security Officer to manage access control at our logistics and truck yard in Ocala, FL. This role is perfect for someone looking for a stable, consistent 2-day schedule with the flexibility to easily pick up extra hours. ​You will serve as the primary gatekeeper of the facility, ensuring that all incoming and outgoing trailer traffic is accurately documented and that the perimeter remains secure. ​ Key Responsibilities ​

Gate Control & Logistics:

Log all incoming and outgoing tractors and trailers. Verify trailer numbers, seal numbers, and shipping documentation. ​

Access Control:

Greet and verify the identity of drivers, visitors, and employees entering the facility. ​

Patrols:

Conduct periodic patrols of the truck yard to check for unlocked trailers, security breaches, or safety hazards. ​

Incident Reporting:

Maintain a clear, legible daily shift log and write detailed reports of any security incidents or suspicious activity. ​ Qualifications & Requirements ​

License:

Must possess a valid, active Florida Class D Security License . ​

Experience:

Previous security experience is preferred, particularly in a truck yard, logistics center, or industrial environment. ​

Skills:

Strong communication skills and the ability to read and record long alphanumeric codes (trailer and seal numbers) accurately. ​

Physical Demands:

Ability to stand, walk, and work in outdoor Florida weather conditions as required by the yard layout. ​ What We Offer ​
