Full Job Description Benefits:
Competitive salary Dental insurance Employee discounts Paid time off Vision insurance The Flagler Museum is seeking a professional and vigilant Security Officer to help protect our historic property, staff, and visitors. This role requires a strong professional and well-groomed appearance with the ability to maintain a confident and welcoming appearance. This role also demands strong observational skills, and excellent customer service with the ability to proactively interact with the public while maintaining prescribed security standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Enforce and follow all museum security protocols and procedures. Take proactive steps to ensure a safe and secure environment for staff and visitors. Control access to restricted and sensitive areas. Conduct regular patrols and security inspections of assigned areas. Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a strong security presence. Respond and communicate calmly and effectively in emergencies Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of security protocols and procedures. Familiar with Fire Panel Systems Excellent observational skills and attention to detail. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to respond to and manage crisis situations calmly and professionally. Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills. Must be flexible and available to work evenings and weekends as required. Must successfully pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of five years of professional security experience. Valid and active Class D Security License preferred or the ability to attain a
D License Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand or walk for long periods. Must be able to lift 20-40 pounds. Ability to walk and patrol throughout various museum areas, including stairs and outdoor spaces. The Flagler Museum is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The Flagler Museum is a smoke-free environment and drug-free workplace.
