Security Officer I FULL TIME
    PARRISH MEDICAL CENTER - TITUSVILLE HOSPITAL

    General Description:
    The Security Officer I reports to the Security Lead or Security Supervisor, conducts activities to prevent, fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry, and bodily harm. Prevents crime and enables deterrence by presenting a highly visible, physically capable, professional uniformed presence. Responds to alarms and other calls for assistance to rescue, protect, and defend. Has access to medication storage areas, may receive, deliver and store medications only.     Parrish Healthcare Key Responsibilities:
    Provides all necessary aspects of security service based on established age-specific standards, appropriate to the age group of the individuals served. Assists in confronting unauthorized persons for questioning; routes, detains them, or telephones police for assistance, according to situation. Notifies Communication Center to alert Fire Department and Hospital personnel in event of fire. Maintains contact with Communication Center by radio or telephone. Reports unusual conditions or malfunctions of heating, electrical systems, plumbing, or communications system. Assists in monitoring and control of parking areas. Maintains emergency vehicle access to emergency entrance and other areas of facility. Assists in escorting personnel to and from parking lots or between buildings as required. Prepares reports using computer word processing applications. Assists with ambulation of patients as required. Assists in the patrol of buildings and grounds, examining doors, windows, entrances and exterior lighting and to determine that all areas are secure and tamper free. Responds to emergency situations and takes actions as directed. Provides directions and assistance to patients and visitors. Performs similar or related duties as assigned. Knows fire, disaster and safety procedures and regulations as it pertains to the work area
    Requirements:
    Formal Education:
    High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
    Work Experience:
    0 to 1 year experience
    Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations:
    Valid State of Florida Drivers License (FDL) and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that is acceptable to PMC's corporate automobile insurance carrier is strongly preferred — license will be screened prior to employment and annually thereafter (if applicable). AHCA fingerprint clearance required. For additional information, please refer to: https://info.flclearinghouse.com FEMA IS906 and IS907 required within one (1) year of hire. IAHSS Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) required within one (1) year of hire. BLS through The American Heart Association required to be completed quarterly through RQI. Complete and achieve the following department-provided trainings and certifications: Certification in Healthcare Defensive Tactics within first 90 days of hire (e.g. AVADE-HDTS, MOAB, or similar approved by the Director). Certification in Defense Baton within 180 days of hire (AVADE, AXON, or similar approved by the Director). Certification in Conducted Energy Weapon (Taser) within 180 days of hire (AVADE, AXON, or similar approved by the Director). Complete on-site training in Traumatic Bleeding Control (tourniquet) within one (1) year of hire (e.g. Stop the Bleed). All above functions must be re-certified as required to maintain competency.
