This role involves maintaining a visible security presence, managing access points, and providing assistance to ensure a smooth, safe, and enjoyable event for everyone involved. As a Security Guard Class D, you will play a vital part in safeguarding the parade route, coordinating with law enforcement agencies, and responding promptly to any incidents or emergencies. Your proactive approach and commitment to safety will help create an inclusive celebration that everyone can enjoy confidently. Duties Monitor parade routes, entry points, and designated areas to prevent unauthorized access and ensure crowd control. Conduct thorough inspections of attendees, staff, vendors, and volunteers to maintain safety standards. Utilize surveillance tools such as CCTV cameras to observe activity and identify potential security concerns. Respond swiftly to incidents or conflicts using conflict management skills while maintaining calm and professionalism. Provide first aid or CPR if necessary, coordinating with emergency responders when required. Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services to coordinate security efforts during the event. Maintain detailed incident reports, logs of patrols, and any security-related occurrences throughout the event. Skills Proven ability in conflict management and de-escalation techniques to handle challenging situations effectively. Knowledge of surveillance systems (CCTV) for monitoring large crowds and securing event perimeters. Certification in first aid and CPR to provide immediate assistance in medical emergencies. Experience or background in law enforcement, military service, or security roles that demonstrate discipline and situational awareness. Familiarity with loss prevention strategies to deter theft or vandalism during large public gatherings. Strong observational skills combined with the ability to respond quickly under pressure. Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members, law enforcement, and emergency responders.
