Lower Parking Lot Security Officer Feminist Center for Reproductive Liberation Atlanta, GA Job Details 1 day ago Qualifications Outdoor work Driver's License Cultural competency Video conferencing software Computer skills Video conferencing systems operation Full Job Description The Lower Parking Lot Security Officer The Lower Parking Lot Security Officer is responsible for engaging with patients, guests, and visitors who come to Feminist Center for Reproductive Liberation (FCRL) to utilize the services we provide in a knowledgeable and compassionate manner. They will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our patients and guests. They will be able to multitask in a high-stress, fast-paced environment as guests arrive for their scheduled appointments. They have a basic knowledge of clinic services and local area hotel, gas station, and restaurant information. The Lower Parking Lot Security Officer possesses a calm demeanor, excellent communication skills, and the ability to de-escalate and maintain control of stressful situations, as they occur.
Duties:
Patrol parking premises regularly. Control traffic entering the site by parking cars in an orderly manner. Document daily guest arrival in accordance with established protocol. Maintain a physical presence at the guard space to ensure visibility. Observe protest activity for suspicious activity or possessions and document on the daily activity log. Follow established protocol related to protestor/guest engagement and activity, property line locations, cameras, etc. Aid guests who may need help as needed and appropriate. Submit a Protest Activity Log daily to keep track of protest activity. Complete all required reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance. Maintain knowledge of current Georgia laws and always adhere to those rules. This is a summary of the typical function of the position, and does not comprise an exhaustive list of duties. Required Skills:
Understanding of and commitment to reproductive health, rights, and justice issues. Must be comfortable working with diverse communities and with those with diverse backgrounds. Must be able to work outside (which may include inclement weather). Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation. Must be reliable, detail-oriented, and well-organized. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, adapt as needed, self-manage, and prioritize between and manage multiple demands. Strong communication and listening skills, including the ability to communicate verbally and in written form. Ability and willingness to accommodate a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends. Preferred Skills:
Experience with racial justice centering anti-blackness, intersectional analysis, TGNC, youth organizing, immigrant rights, disability justice, and/or LGBTQIA+ movements. Ability to lead with kindness and from a strengths-based perspective; someone who sees the value in every person and communicates respect and encouragement to people at all levels. Optimistic and resourceful, with strong self-awareness, cultural competence, emotional intelligence, and humility; grounded and flexible with a high degree of integrity and transparency. Must be able to conduct business in English; however, fluency in languages other than English is a plus. Accessibility Information and Physical Requirements:
This role occasionally participates in online virtual communication, including email, video conferencing, and other online tools used to facilitate virtual office culture and work sharing. Must be able to communicate and exchange information using these platforms. This role occasionally uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and scanners. Must constantly engage with others in person. Must frequently traverse a concrete sloped parking lot to access the FCRL office. Must frequently ascend and descend stairs to access each floor of the FCRL office. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to loud. Mission, Vision, and Values:
