Night Technician (Overnight)

Position Summary The Night Technician plays a vital role in maintaining the safety, security, and supportive environment of Penfield Addiction Ministries during overnight hours. This position is responsible for monitoring campus security cameras, conducting hourly walkthroughs of the facility, addressing client concerns as appropriate, and communicating any incidents or needs to on-call or daytime staff. The Night Technician helps ensure a calm, safe, and structured environment that supports the recovery and well-being of all residents. Key Responsibilities Monitor security cameras throughout the night to ensure the safety of clients, staff, and property Conduct thorough walkthroughs of the building and campus at least once per hour , documenting findings as required Address client concerns professionally and compassionately within the scope of the role De-escalate minor issues when appropriate and notify supervisory staff of any concerns beyond scope Respond to emergencies following Penfield policies and procedures Maintain accurate logs and reports of incidents, concerns, walkthroughs, and observations Communicate clearly with on-call staff, supervisors, or morning staff regarding overnight activities or issues Enforce facility rules and safety protocols in a respectful and consistent manner Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Previous experience in security, residential care, behavioral health, or a related field preferred Ability to remain alert and attentive during overnight hours Strong communication and documentation skills Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful or emergency situations Commitment to Penfield Addiction Ministries' mission and values Physical & Work Requirements Ability to walk the campus and building repeatedly throughout the shift Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations Additional Expectations Must pass background check and any required drug screenings CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as scheduled
