As an Armed security officer you will undertake the surveillance and protection of patrons, properties and facilities for Schools in Skokie, IL .
Signing Bonus:
Receive $300 after successfully completing 90 days of full-time employment (32+ hours per week).
Compensation:
$19/hour while working unarmed, pending activation of FCC credentials with the state and successful completion of the company's required in-house scenario based training; compensation then increases to $23/hour once working armed. The Armed Security Officer duties are as follows, duties include but are not limited to: OBSERVE
  • Provide maximum awareness, look for inconsistencies. REPORT
  • Document information; incidents, critical situation, etc. DETER
  • Exhibit positive presence, mindset, and mentality at all times.
Other duties as assigned. Qualified applicants for the position will meet the minimum requirements, as described below: 1st & 2nd Shifts Available Weekend availability is required Must have active P.E.R.C Must have active F.O.I.D card Must have active Original Firearms Training #230 (Semi-Auto) Must have requalification for semi-auto, within past year. Must have past FCC (Firearms Control Card) Must have a valid driver's license High school diploma or equivalent Must be 21 years of age or older Must have own vehicle Must have 1yr armed security experience Must pass Scenario Based Training (SBT/both days), there is a $275 Course Fee for Scenario based training (weekly payroll deductions available). Must posses all armed equipment As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation. As a condition of employment, employee must be able to successfully pass a post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test.
Essential Physical and Mental Functions:
Stand or walk constantly (for up to an entire shift) on various surfaces (tile, concrete, carpet) Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift Occasionally bend/twist at waist/knees/neck to perform various duties Occasionally lift or carry up to 50lbs. Run as needed Constant use of both hands and arms in reaching/handling/grasping/fingering while using phone, notepad, writing reports, and other administrative tasks Constant use of eyes (correctable vision to normal level required) to observe, read, interact with public and co-workers, view security monitors; includes hand/eye coordination Read, understand and clearly speak English; constantly use speech and hearing (correctable to normal level required) in communicating with public/co-workers, giving and receiving instructions, using phones Work in various environments including adverse outdoor conditions such as cold, rain or heat; Constant mental alertness and attention to detail required while setting priorities and following up on assignments Must possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner; must be able to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines Must be able to frequently prepare written reports and logs in neat, legible handwriting; may require computer skills Must be able to read and understand all operating procedures and instructions Must be able to handle pressure of working with high volume general public (constantly to occasionally depending on assignment).
