Job Description
Safe Harbor Family Crisis Center is seeking a Court Advocate to assist survivors of domestic violence through support and advocacy. Since 1990, Safe Harbor Family Crisis Center has been providing programs and services for survivors of domestic violence in Knox County. Emergency safety planning, court advocacy, counseling services and resources are provided. If you are organized, detail-oriented, and have a passion for assisting survivors of domestic violence we encourage you to apply to be a part of our team. The Court Advocate supports survivors of domestic violence as they navigate the legal system. Responsibilities support survivors through court documents and proceedings prepare documents with survivors such as Orders of Protection provide support for survivors throughout the legal steps accompany survivors to court be familiar with the Illinois Domestic Violence Act assist other team members with supporting survivors in their time of need crisis line coverage rotation other duties as assigned Requirements must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record proof of vehicle insurance access to vehicle during business hours uphold to confidentiality agreement background check will need to complete a 40-hour domestic violence training at start of employment Benefits medical, dental, vision insurance matching 3% 13 paid holidays 2 weeks' vacation 5 personal days per year sick leave rotation on crisis line Statement of non-discrimination Safe Harbor is an equal opportunity employer, subscribing to affirmative action principles and fair employment practices.
