Security Guard Overview summary Summit Staffing is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Security Guard to support facility security warehouse operations. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and compliant work environment by conducting routine interior and exterior patrols, monitoring employee and visitor activity, observing security systems, and reporting safety or security concerns. $20.00 - $25.00/hour Key Responsibilities

• Conduct hourly inspections of the building perimeter and surrounding grounds.
• Patrol parking lots and exterior areas for suspicious activity, unauthorized individuals, or security concerns.
• Verify exterior doors, gates, and access points remain secured after designated operating hours.
• Inspect exterior lighting and report maintenance or security issues promptly.
• Monitor for trespassing, vandalism, property damage, excessive trash, or pest concerns.
• Ensure outdoor equipment and facility property remain secure.
• Perform interior facility patrols every 30 minutes throughout the shift.
• Verify fire exits, emergency exits, aisles, and evacuation routes remain clear and unobstructed.
• Monitor blind spots, restricted areas, and low-visibility locations throughout the facility.
• Observe employee, visitor, contractor, and vendor activity for unusual or suspicious behavior.
• Monitor shipping, receiving, truck arrivals, and visitor access.
• Receive and route small package deliveries to the appropriate personnel.
• Monitor security cameras, alarms, access control systems, intercoms, and door notifications.
• Maintain heightened awareness during shift changes, employee breaks, and other high-traffic periods.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions, near misses, safety hazards, theft, accidents, trespassing, or suspicious activity immediately.
• Document all patrols, inspections, incidents, and observations in daily security logs.
• Maintain accurate records of security activities and incident reports.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, management, emergency responders, and facility personnel.
• Support compliance with company safety policies, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), food safety requirements, and facility security procedures.
• Maintain a professional appearance and provide courteous assistance to employees, visitors, and contractors.
• Follow all company safety policies and security procedures while promoting a safe work environment. Skills & Experience
• Previous experience in security, warehouse, manufacturing, law enforcement, military, or related environments preferred.
• Strong observation skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to security and safety concerns.
• Ability to remain alert and focused throughout the entire shift.
• Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with security monitoring systems preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Professional, dependable, and reliable work ethic. Preferred Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous security experience is highly preferred.
• Experience working in manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, or industrial environments is a plus.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Willingness to work overtime and maintain schedule flexibility as needed. Work Environment
