Job Description

We are pleased to offer the opportunity to work as a Cybersecurity Intern within the DuPage County Information Technology Department to assist with network security, threat detection, and IT security compliance initiatives. This is a summer internship position with a fixed term from June 1, 2026 to August 31, 2026. DuPage County is an Equal Opportunity Employer This position is eligible for Paid Leave hours at a proportional rate based on the number of hours regularly scheduled to work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Projects will include:
  • Assisting with security monitoring and incident response procedures
  • Supporting vulnerability assessments and security audits
  • Helping document IT security policies and procedures
  • Learning and applying cybersecurity best practices
  • Participating in security awareness training development
  • Assisting with security tool implementation and management
  • Research related to emerging threats, compliance requirements, and security technologies Requires the applicant to be actively taking undergraduate or graduate level courses at an accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field with some background or coursework in network security and information protection.

Sedentary Work:
