Security Guard - Full-Time & Part-Time The Cannaisseur | Wood River, IL | $17.50-$22.00 / hour About Us The Cannaisseur is an adult-use cannabis dispensary opening in Wood River, IL. The Role We're hiring Security Guards for both full-time (40 hrs/week) and part-time (20-25 hrs/week) positions. Guards at The Cannaisseur are registered as Dispensing Organization Agents with the state, which means you'll be credentialed to verify customer IDs at the lobby , a core function of this role. Control and monitor access at the lobby entry point; verify customer age (21+) and valid government-issued ID Be present and on duty during all cannabis product deliveries Ensure all authorized visitors are accompanied at all times per state regulations Observe and report suspicious activity, disturbances, or policy violations Write clear, accurate incident reports Coordinate with management and respond appropriately to emergencies Support compliance with all state tracking and operational security protocols Maintain occupancy limits and keep the lobby controlled Enforce zero-tolerance policy for on-site consumption

Requirements Required:

Valid Illinois PERC Card (Permanent Employee Registration Card) Completion of 20-Hour Basic Security Training Must be 21 years of age or older Must pass a background check and complete state Dispensing Organization Agent registration Reliable personal transportation

Preferred:

Previous experience as a Security Officer, Guard, or in a similar role

Valid Illinois Driver's License All Candidates Must Demonstrate:

Strong knowledge of public safety and security procedures and protocols Excellent written communication and incident report-writing skills High level of integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment Strong observational skills and attention to detail Ability to de-escalate situations calmly and professionally Physical Requirements Ability to stand and remain on your feet for the duration of your shift (6-8 hours) Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs Ability to move quickly and respond physically to security situations as needed Sufficient mobility to cover entry points, lobby areas, and building perimeter Visual acuity sufficient to monitor and identify individuals at all entry and exit points

Compensation & Benefits Pay:

$17.50-$22.00 / hour (based on experience)
