Senior Security Officer About City of Hope , City of Hope's mission is to make hope a reality for all touched by cancer and diabetes. 10:30 PM - 7:00 AM (3rd Shift)
Days Off:
One weekend day (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday); additional days off to be determined Job Summary Security Officers are responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patients, staff members, volunteers, visitors, students, equipment, supplies, and all assets necessary to support the comprehensive healthcare environment at City of Hope Chicago. Security Officers respond to reported or observed acts of physical violence within the hospital and proactively address any active or potential threats on the premises. Responsibilities include documenting incidents through detailed report writing (e.g., lost and found, alarms, disruptive behavior, vandalism, theft), conducting routine patrols, and maintaining a visible security presence throughout the facility. Senior Security Officers may be required to carry firearms in accordance with hospital policy and applicable state and federal statutes. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required Minimum of 5 years of law enforcement or military experience Separation from law enforcement or military within the past 5 years preferred Valid driver's license required Demonstrated sound judgment and quick decision-making ability Strong verbal and written communication skills Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR/AED) certification required within 6 months of hire Eligibility to carry a concealed firearm under the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act of 2004, or ability to obtain eligibility through the State of Illinois (IDFPR) within 120 days of hire Ability to maintain current firearms qualification under applicable laws Must maintain a current Illinois Firearm Owner's Identification (FOID) Card (Illinois residents only) City of Hope is an equal opportunity employer.
