Job Description

Unarmed Security/Patrol Officers Full-time Officers needed in Burns Harbor, IN FT & PT/All Shifts
  • $17.50/hr

  • Weekly Pay TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card holders are encouraged to apply!
As a security officer with Genric, you will be responsible for the safety and security of our client's property and personnel, as well as your co-workers. We promote within.
Qualifications:
Current possession of TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) is preferred but not mandatory. Obtaining TWIC is mandatory upon hire. Must possess driver's license for 3+ years with clean driving record Possess a hard copy of High School diploma or equivalent Present two personal references upon interview Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen (including marijuana) and background check Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers/Guards Possess effective written and oral communication skills to accurately maintain completed logs and reports Ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the public in a professional manner Possess intermediate computer skills Ability to handle frequent sitting, standing, and walking which may be required for long periods of time and may involve climbing stairs, walking up inclines, and on uneven terrain Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat Ability to follow established security protocols while using initiative and good judgement Responsibilities for
Security Officers/Gate Attendants:
Monitor and ensure no unauthorized vehicles and/or pedestrians gain access to the client property. Conduct random vehicle searches of those entering the property, looking for illegal items or items contrary to contraband policies. Expected to be outside of access control gate houses for majority of the shift regardless of time of day or weather conditions. Responsibilities for
Pass ID/Pass Control Officers:
Must initially train at gate before working as Pass ID/Pass Control Officer Utilizing client computers and systems to generate photo access badges for employees and contractors, visitor badges, and short-term passes. Responsible for logging visitors in the reporting system and tracking activity and access. Inputs and updates data in internal systems that feeds directly to access control and payroll processes, so thoroughness and accuracy in data entry are paramount. Responsible for responding to building door alarms, investigating causes, and documenting findings in reporting software. Comfortability with processing requests and corresponding with various departments and client executives in a professional and concise manner. Responsible for accurate records retention. Effective communication skills and ability to verbally de-escalate tense situations. Ability to adapt to and implement changes in policies and documentation requirements in computer systems. Patrol Officers:
Patrol client property in a marked security vehicle, looking for unusual or suspicious activity and investigating as required. Responding to emergencies and completing accurate and thorough investigations, such as, vehicle accidents, medical emergencies, trespassing, theft, etc. Enforcement of Plant Traffic Regulation Program and conducting traffic stops on vehicles and issuing internal citations for violations as required. #NWI
