Job Description
Description The Sergeant Dayshift Security will conduct preliminary investigation of incidents and accidents and files appropriate reports in accordance with established policies and procedures and patrols of the campus, locking, and securing buildings according to established policy. This position will be responsible for guarding against unauthorized entry to campus grounds and buildings. The Sergeant Dayshift Security will respond to medical emergencies, provides emergency first aid assistance, and transportation to medical facilities in accordance with established policies and procedures, and will function as a Public Relations Officer by providing information, directions, and assistance to guests, visitors, and members of the community. This position will enforce the College traffic and parking regulations by issuing traffic citations, following the Security Department's established policies and procedures, to violators of the regulations. The Sergeant Dayshift Security will Conducts and/or assists with Fire and Safety inspections of campus grounds and building, generate work orders for malfunctioning lights, doors, locks, etc. and reports on all hazardous or unsafe conditions observed, and direct vehicular and the pedestrian traffic and provides assistance with traffic control during special events. This position will assist local law enforcement agencies on campus, when required. The above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job.
