Security Officer PART TIME

Job Summary:

MPI-K9 is seeking a highly motivated and professional Security Officer to join our team in Lexington, Kentucky. The Security Officer will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients' employees, visitors, and customers. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, have excellent communication skills, and possess a strong sense of professionalism.

Responsibilities:

Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish a security presence Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons Answer telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information during non-business hours or when switchboard is closed Operate detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas Investigate and report safety hazards and assist with emergency evacuations Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Previous security experience preferred, but not required Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and a sense of professionalism Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test We offer competitive pay and opportunities for advancement.
