UNARMED SECURITY OFFICER

The Unarmed Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for residents, guests, and property staff. This position emphasizes high visibility, proactive prevention, and rapid response to incidents while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and customer service. Key Responsibilities Conduct routine patrols of the property, including interior and exterior areas Monitor all access points, entrances, and exits Verify residents, guests, and vendors prior to granting access Enforce property rules, policies, and community guidelines Respond promptly to disturbances, suspicious activity, and emergencies Prepare and submit detailed Daily Activity Reports (DARs) and incident reports Provide professional customer service and assist residents as needed Coordinate with local law enforcement, fire department, and emergency services when required Monitor security cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems (if applicable) Identify and report safety hazards, maintenance concerns, or security vulnerabilities Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Valid state-issued identification (security license if required by state regulations) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure Reliable transportation and strong punctuality Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in security, military, or law enforcement Experience in residential or property management security CPR and First Aid certification Strong report writing and documentation skills Core Skills & Competencies Situational awareness and threat recognition Conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques Professional appearance and conduct Strong attention to detail Customer service-oriented mindset Working Conditions Combination of indoor and outdoor assignments Exposure to varying weather conditions Extended periods of standing and walking Availability for evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed Key Expectations Maintain a consistent, high-visibility presence to deter criminal activity Adhere to a zero-tolerance policy regarding negligence and misconduct Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and post orders Represent the organization with professionalism, integrity, and accountability at all times Reporting Structure This position reports directly to: Site Supervisor /
