Position Summary We are currently hiring Licensed Unarmed Security Officers for retail locations throughout Maryland. Officers will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment, enforcing site procedures, and providing excellent customer service while on duty. Responsibilities Maintain accurate entrance and exit logs for authorized individuals Monitor premises and assist with access control procedures Operate metal detectors when required by site Conduct routine patrols and report fire hazards, safety concerns, or alarm system malfunctions Report security violations, suspicious activity, and incidents to management Complete daily activity reports and incident logs Provide a visible security presence and interact professionally with staff, visitors, and customers Requirements Must possess a valid Maryland Security Guard License Must be at least 21 years old High school diploma or GED required Strong communication and interpersonal skills Must be able to speak, read, and write in English Ability to understand and follow written and printed instructions Must be in good physical condition and able to stand or walk for extended periods Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and respond quickly when needed Current First Aid Card preferred or required based on assignment Clean criminal background Must be mentally and physically alert at all times Must be willing to complete a background check and drug screening Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of security operations and standard procedures Experience working in retail or customer-facing environments Why Join America Protective Security?
