Job Description

Position Summary... What you'll do... Walmart Central Fill Pharmacy is a specialized type of pharmacy that focuses on processing and dispensing of prescriptions for multiple retail pharmacy locations within a region. Unlike a traditional pharmacy, Central Fill is full of automation allowing prescriptions to be filled fast and accurately. But the best part of Central Fill pharmacy is taking care of our patients in the community. While we are not patient facing, our job provides retail pharmacies the ability to spend much deserved time providing clinical services and education to the communities they serve. We are currently seeking a Specialist, Physical Security associate to join our team at our Frederick, MD facility.
Schedule:
Flex position (Sundays
  • 5:30am
  • 5:30pm. Thursdays and Fridays
  • 3pm•11:30pm) Various shifts, 36-40 hours per week.

Qualifications:
1 year experience in security, law enforcement, military, emergency services or related field.
Role summary:
The Specialist, Physical Security, plays a critical role in developing and implementing security protocols, training, and emergency response strategies to ensure a safe environment across company sites. This position involves managing threat assessments, coordinating tactical responses to incidents, and maintaining compliance with corporate and regulatory standards. The role requires collaboration with internal teams and external partners to address security challenges effectively while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The Specialist upholds the highest standards of integrity and professionalism, contributing to a secure workplace aligned with organizational values and operational goals.

The Physical Security team is committed to maintaining a secure environment that supports operational efficiency. They develop and enforce security protocols, emergency response plans, and training programs to address potential threats. Working closely with internal and external partners, the team ensures compliance with safety standards and delivers tactical responses during emergencies. Their focus includes threat detection, incident response, and crisis management to protect associates, visitors, and facilities. By continuously improving security measures, the team upholds a safe workplace that enables all to perform their duties effectively. What you'll do: Support development and implementation of security protocols, programs, and training to enhance safety and compliance with corporate standards. Respond to emergency situations by initiating incident command and providing tactical security responses to life safety events. Implement and monitor security systems, including alarm and intrusion detection, threat management, and crisis response strategies. Investigate reported threats, policy violations, and security breaches while assisting with mitigation efforts. Ensure regulatory and corporate policy compliance by identifying and addressing safety and security issues. Collaborate with internal and external partners to maintain a secure working environment and provide effective emergency response. What you'll bring: Proven experience in physical security operations, including emergency and incident response. Strong knowledge of crisis management and threat management protocols. Ability to implement and improve security systems, procedures, and training programs. Skilled in responding tactically to life safety events such as active shooter, fire, and severe weather incidents. Familiarity with regulatory compliance including OSHA, PCI, and fire codes. Effective collaboration with internal teams and external agencies to maintain a safe environment. Commitment to integrity, ethics, and adherence to company policies and standards. Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear, timely updates during emergencies. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Will complete and pass all core components of the Physical Security Specialist Training Academy within 90 days of job entry date and will maintain them while employed in this position. 1 year experience in security, law enforcement, military, emergency services or related field.
