Sunstates Security is hiring a Part-Time SOC Security Officer in the Rockville, Maryland area. We have positions available on 1st and 2nd shift for weekends ! We are offering a pay rate of $23.69/hr, with weekly pay. Job Requirements Primary Responsibilities Security Professionals will be expected to: Provide professional security support at a corporate headquarters environment in Rockville, MD. Monitor enterprise-wide security systems, alarms, cameras, and access control platforms from the Security Operations Center (SOC). Respond to alarms, incidents, and security concerns in accordance with established procedures and escalation protocols. Conduct investigations and document security events, unusual activity, and incidents impacting company personnel, facilities, or operations. Perform routine patrols, facility inspections, and security checks of the headquarters location. Monitor employee, visitor, and contractor access while ensuring compliance with site security procedures. Complete daily activity reports, incident reports, pass-down logs, and other required documentation with a high degree of accuracy. Coordinate with local management, emergency responders, and enterprise stakeholders during incidents and emergencies. Support business continuity, emergency response, and after-hours security operations. Maintain a professional presence and deliver exceptional customer service to employees, guests, and visitors. Minimum Requirements Must be able to work in Rockville, MD. Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be proficient with computers and comfortable working with security technology platforms, including access control, CCTV, alarm monitoring, and incident management systems. Must be capable of multitasking and making sound decisions in a fast-paced operations environment. Must be reliable, punctual, and maintain a professional demeanor. Must be able to work evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays as assigned. Prior experience in security, dispatch, emergency communications, corporate security, security operations centers (SOC), military, law enforcement, or customer service preferred. Maryland Security Guard Certification or ability to obtain and maintain required credentials. Ideal Candidate Profile The strongest candidates will possess: Experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC), command center, dispatch center, or corporate security environment. Knowledge of access control systems, CCTV platforms, alarm monitoring, and incident response procedures. Strong situational awareness and the ability to assess and prioritize multiple events simultaneously. Excellent report writing and documentation skills. Professional communication and customer service abilities. Ability to remain calm and effective during emergencies and critical incidents. Strong attention to detail and commitment to security best practices. Flexibility to support additional shifts and operational needs when required. Reliable transportation to Rockville, MD. Coverage required during company-observed holidays A Security Officer may perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Security Officer will read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP and will be able to act quickly and efficiently according to such directives.
