Security monitor - 2nd shift 3.0 3.0 out of 5 stars Albion, MI 49224 $20.40 an hour - Full-time RD Albion 2 reviews $20.40 an hour - Full-time Job Summary The Security Monitor I (SM(I)) is an unarmed employee that incorporates an observation and reporting approach in providing the highest level of safety and security for all unaccompanied children ages 10-17, employees, contractors, and guests at the residential care facility. The SM(I) provides professional security expertise in areas including but not limited to employee and children security responses, addressing facility vulnerabilities that comply with federal, state, and local law enforcement and other governing agencies, emergency action plans, and facility drills. The SM(I) provides documented update for their designated shift to the Lead Security Monitor daily. The SM(I) collaborates with all departments to provide a solution to all issues presented. The Security MonitorI must ensure that services comply with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) licensing rules and Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) policies. Must strictly adhere to ORR's Zero Tolerance Policy regarding abuse and neglect and all relevant ORR policies and procedures always ensuring the safety of the children and youth.
WAGE:
$20.40/hr
Shift:
2pm-10pm Duties Follow all policies and procedures as required by state and federal contracts. Recommends updates of the organization's operations, maintenance, and security procedures to maintain safe operating and working conditions. Conducts monthly security inspections and maintenance on security equipment to prevent a lapse in service. Conducts facility security vulnerability assessments, facility (Fire and other emergency) drill participation, and inspections of facilities security equipment (cameras, access control), then recommends solutions. Acts on timely repairs approved by Chief Administrator or designee to enhance safety and security. Assists in coordinating and conducting security training that encompasses quicker response time in dealing with uninvited guests, facility intruders, and even active shooters. Develops, analyzes, and manages security analytical trends and recommends solutions to negatively impacted trends. Collaborates with the site security team in preparing monthly security vulnerability reports for leadership. Participates in inter-departmental meetings to ensure organizational cohesiveness.

Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Meet all requirements as listed in the Licensing And Regulatory Affairs (LARA) for Security Guards. At least 1 year of experience in a security role in the state of Michigan or private security guard in another state for 3 years. Meet all requirements as listed in the licensing requirements for the Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) for security guards. Required to successfully complete the Unarmed Security Officer certification through the Michigan Department of Criminal Justice. Required to successfully complete Michigan Security Guard Essentials Course Excellent Driving Record.a Monitor today!
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Shifts will include an 8-hour shift in person (onsite) where the shelter is located. Being on call on a rotating basis may be required for this position to support sick or scheduled vacations for Security Monitors on different shifts. The work week may not consist of a traditional Monday through Friday work schedule, and working some holidays and weekends will be required. Work is conducted in a 24-hour shelter with children whose primary language is Spanish. Noise levels will vary indoors and outdoors. Position can require a great deal of standing, walking on uneven, rocky surfaces, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and lifting up to 30 lbs. It can also involve sitting for extended periods to ensure documentation is promptly entered.
