Position Summary:
As a Security Officer at the Lansing Mall, you will play a key role in maintaining the safety and security of our premises. Responsibilities include patrolling the property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points, and permitting entry.
Key Responsibilities:
Patrol Duties:
Regularly walk through and inspect the property to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
Surveillance:
Monitor CCTV feeds and alarm systems to identify disruptions or unlawful acts.
Access Control:
Manage access to the property by screening visitors and verifying visitor credentials.
Incident Response:
Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances immediately.
Report Writing:
Write detailed reports on daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
Emergency Response:
Provide first aid and emergency assistance as needed.
Customer Service:
Assist mall visitors with directions and information about facilities and services.
Law Enforcement Liaison:
Cooperate with police, fire, and other safety officers in security operations and emergency situations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in security training is a plus.
- Proven experience as a security officer or guard.
- Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety.
- Familiarity with report writing.
- Excellent surveillance and observation skills.
- Tech-savvy with experience in surveillance systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Physically able to patrol the property and intervene during incidents.
- Certified in CPR and first aid is preferred.
