Job Summary We are seeking a vigilant and proactive Campus Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our educational institution's campus community. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment by monitoring premises, managing access points, and responding swiftly to incidents. Your dedication will help foster a safe, welcoming atmosphere where students, staff, and visitors can thrive. Responsibilities Monitor campus activity through CCTV surveillance systems to identify potential security threats or suspicious behavior. Control access to campus facilities by verifying identities and performing background checks on visitors, contractors, and staff. Conduct regular patrols of the campus grounds, buildings, and surrounding areas to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized entry. Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, or incidents by coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services as needed. Perform first aid and CPR when necessary, providing immediate assistance in medical emergencies until professional help arrives. Manage conflict situations using effective conflict management techniques while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor. Operate security equipment such as Taser devices, AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators), CCTV cameras, and other surveillance tools. Assist with heavy lifting or manual handling tasks during campus events or maintenance activities while adhering to safety protocols. Support loss prevention initiatives by identifying potential theft or misconduct and documenting incidents accurately. Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incident reports, and security checks to ensure thorough documentation of all events. Experience Prior experience in security roles within educational institutions, military settings, law enforcement agencies or similar environments is highly desirable. Proven proficiency in surveillance techniques using CCTV systems and familiarity with security technology tools. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as Taser operation or AED training are advantageous. Experience performing background checks or screening procedures is preferred. Demonstrated ability to handle conflict management situations professionally while maintaining safety standards. Knowledge of heavy lifting procedures and manual handling safety practices is beneficial.
