Government Contract Location:
Minneapolis, MN Job Type:
Full-Time Position Overview We are seeking a professional and dependable Security Guard Level II to provide security and safety services for county government facilities in Minneapolis, MN. This role is responsible for protecting personnel, property, facilities, and assets by monitoring access control points, preventing unauthorized entry, and responding to security or safety incidents. The ideal candidate will maintain a strong security presence, enforce facility regulations, and respond effectively to emergencies while ensuring the uninterrupted operation of government facilities. Key Responsibilities Provide security protection and access control for government facilities and restricted areas. Safeguard government property, classified materials, and personnel from unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, or intentional damage. Monitor and control ingress and egress at assigned security checkpoints. Respond promptly to unusual, suspicious, or emergency situations. Observe and report violations of security and safety procedures. Respond to alarms, disturbances, and other security-related incidents. Maintain knowledge of all assigned security procedures, post orders, and emergency protocols. Prepare accurate and detailed incident and activity reports. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident . Must be at least 21 years of age Must possess a valid Social Security card issued by the Social Security Administration. Minimum of 2 years of security experience (Level II) Must possess or be eligible for Level II certification meeting state requirements (OC Spray, Baton, and Handcuff certifications) Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently Familiarity with securing facilities and/or vehicles at fixed locations Physically capable of standing and working a 12-hour shift . High school diploma or GED required Must successfully pass: Background investigation, pre-employment drug screening, physical examination, psychiatric evaluation Preferred Qualifications CPR and First Aid Certification Recent Level II certification within the past 3 months (documentation required) Minimum of 1 year of law enforcement experience with a municipal, state, or federal agency in good standing; OR Minimum of 2 years of honorable military service in any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces. Military or Law Enforcement strongly encouraged to apply Work Environment This position may require working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining a high level of alertness and professionalism throughout assigned shifts.

$30.44 per hour
