Job Overview We are seeking a vigilant and proactive Security Officer to join our team in Minneapolis and/or St. Paul. This dynamic role involves safeguarding our facilities, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and maintaining a secure environment for staff, visitors, and assets. As a Security Officer, you will be the first line of defense, utilizing your keen observation skills and security expertise to prevent incidents and respond effectively when needed. Responsibilities Monitor surveillance systems such as CCTV to oversee activity within the premises and identify potential security threats. Conduct regular patrols of the facility to ensure all areas are secure and compliant with safety policies. Manage access control by verifying credentials for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors entering or exiting the site. Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, or emergencies by coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services as necessary. Implement loss prevention strategies by observing suspicious behavior and intervening when appropriate. Maintain detailed incident reports, shift logs, and security records accurately and promptly. Enforce safety procedures including first aid and CPR when required to assist injured individuals or stabilize emergencies. Skills Strong knowledge of surveillance techniques including CCTV operation and monitoring. Experience in law enforcement, military, or security roles with a focus on conflict management and emergency response. Ability to perform first aid and CPR confidently in urgent situations. Excellent conflict management skills to de-escalate tense situations professionally. Familiarity with loss prevention tactics to protect company assets effectively. Understanding of security protocols and loss prevention measures tailored to various environments. Effective communication skills for clear reporting and coordination with emergency responders.
