The employee must be able to cover all shifts. Sometimes coverage may be needed with in a few hours. You will join the security professionals that cover our clients in Rochester including the Mayo construction sites, Ronald McDonald House, Hope Lodge and RPU. The perfect applicant is looking for a few shifts a week and can work overnights (midnight to 8 am). The applicant MUST have a clean background: no felonies, no thefts, no assualts and a good credit history. Job Summary We are seeking energetic and dependable Security Officers for on-call and fill-in positions to support our dynamic security team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe environment by monitoring premises, managing access, and responding promptly to incidents. This position offers flexible scheduling opportunities for those eager to contribute to safety and security in various settings. Duties Control access points by verifying identification and authorizations for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors Conduct surveillance using CCTV systems to monitor activity across the premises Respond swiftly and effectively to security incidents or emergencies, coordinating with law enforcement or emergency responders as needed Perform routine patrols of the facility, including visual inspections of key areas and perimeter checks Assist in loss prevention efforts by observing suspicious behavior and deterring theft or vandalism Complete detailed incident reports, shift logs, and security documentation accurately and promptly Support conflict management efforts by de-escalating tense situations professionally Qualifications Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military service, or related fields is preferred but not required Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable Knowledge of surveillance systems such as CCTV and loss prevention techniques is a plus Strong conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods during shifts Excellent communication skills with a professional demeanor Valid certifications in security or law enforcement where applicable Join us in creating safer environments through proactive security measures!
