In this position, you will help protect residents, visitors, businesses, recreational facilities, and public spaces by monitoring activity, conducting patrols, responding to incidents, and providing exceptional customer service. Responsibilities Monitor security cameras, alarm systems, and surveillance equipment to identify suspicious activity or potential security concerns. Control access to facilities, properties, and designated areas by verifying identification, credentials, and authorizations. Conduct regular patrols of neighborhoods, community spaces, recreational areas, parking lots, and facilities to identify safety hazards or security risks. Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, emergencies, disturbances, and safety concerns, coordinating with local law enforcement, fire departments, or emergency responders when necessary. Provide outstanding customer service by assisting residents, guests, contractors, and visitors with questions and directions. Enforce security policies, safety regulations, and community guidelines consistently and professionally. Complete accurate reports documenting incidents, observations, patrol activities, and security-related events. Assist with traffic control, special events, and visitor management as needed. Skills & Qualifications Previous law enforcement, military, corrections, or security experience is preferred. Strong understanding of security practices, safety procedures, and emergency response protocols. Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to remain calm and professional when handling conflicts, emergencies, or challenging situations. Strong observation skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment. Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred. Familiarity with residential communities, commercial properties, recreational facilities, or public-use areas is a plus. Physical Requirements Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, including shifts of up to 12 hours. Must be capable of remaining alert and attentive throughout the duration of assigned shifts. Ability to move throughout assigned properties, facilities, parking areas, and outdoor environments as required. Must be able to work in varying weather and environmental conditions. Ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop, reach, and perform other physical activities associated with security operations. Must be able to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and security incidents. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, or more if required by the assignment. Must be able to comply with all physical requirements, training standards, and job performance expectations associated with the position. Additional Requirements Must be able to pass a background investigation and any applicable pre-employment screenings. Must possess or be able to obtain all required state and local security licenses or certifications. Candidates with firearms training, military experience, law enforcement experience, or armed security experience are strongly encouraged to apply. This position may require assignment to armed security posts.
