Role:
The Corporate Security and Safety Agent is responsible for protecting company people, property, and operations, including associates, tenants, guests, and visitors. This role includes responsibilities associated with an armed security position and requires maintaining high standards of judgement, professionalism, and safety. The agent enforces established security policies, procedures, metrics, and programs while maintaining a high level of situational awareness and compliance with all required annual training. Day to day you'll... Monitoring for and responding to disturbances or security incidents Conducting preliminary investigations as appropriate Serving as a liaison with law enforcement and emergency responders Maintaining order and ensuring the safety of all persons during routine operations and emergency situations Remaining calm under stress and exercising sound judgement in high-pressure situations. Safely carrying, maintaining, and responsibly handling a company-authorized firearm, including adherence to all training, certification, and use-of-force requirements, in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, company policies and required training Exercising appropriate judgment in the use of force, including safe handling and, where necessary, potential deployment of a firearm, consistent with training, company policy and applicable law Supporting the implementation and effectiveness of security and safety initiatives Performing all other duties as assigned in support of organizational objectives The responsibilities listed above represent the essential functions of this position
Required Qualifications:
Associates degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience 5 years related security, law enforcement or military experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Candidate holds or can obtain a firearms license Corporate Security and Safety Agents must obtain and maintain a Class A Armed Patrol Agent License with the Private Officers Licensing Unit of the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department (or other applicable licensing authority), as required for this position Employment is contingent on successfully completing all required pre-employment screenings, which may include post-offer background investigations and post-offer assessments designed to evaluate a candidate's ability to safely and effectively perform the essential functions of an armed security role, including safe handling and use of a firearm, in accordance with applicable law All screening requirements will be applied consistently to candidates for this role
